I couldn’t resist making a little set with these colours for my friend’s baby. I started with 3x50g balls of the grey yarn and 1x50g ball of the pastel mix yarn and ended with around 15g left of the grey and only a tiny bit left of the pastel. The pattern for the wrap cardigan is erika knight for John Lewis (no longer stocked). I didn’t like the result of the original tie in the pattern (you cast on around 150 sts, knit 3 rows and cast off and then sew it to the front - it curled and looked untidy) so instead I followed the same method for the ties in the Darcy bonnet (pattern by agasalhosbugalhos) and picked up 5 stitches at the front of each side and knit the ties that way. I used a three needle bind-off method for the shoulder seams. The bonnet and booties give this set a really classic look and the colour combinations make it quite playful. Garter Stitch looks lovely for babies and feels thicker and warmer than stocking stitch in my opinion.
