Christmas stockings, in April crafted in quarantene
My friend had a pattern her grandmother used to make Christmas stocking for the whole family. My friend wanted stockings made for new family members. This was my opportunity to learn intarsa, sock heels and kitchener's stitch. knit top down. intarsa section knit back and forth on circular knitting needles. Heel & toe section knit back and forth on double point using the fish lips kiss heel pattern (available on Ravlery.com for $1.00, very worth the price). toe was closed with kitchener's stitch. Finishing 2 seams: back of the leg from top to heel and sole of the foot from heel toe section. The hanging loop was made by crocheting a 50 chain long chord with 2 yarn strands, red and white. Tie the tail strand on each of the chain into a knot. Then use the tail strands to tie the center of the pom poms you make out of two colors, red & white. Sew chain in place to make a hanging loop.
