I wanted to use up some of the substantial amount of leftover DK yarn I have from a recent knitted soft toy project. I was delighted to find this free pattern by Amanda Berry on the web; These mittens were quick to knit and a nice way of using up leftover yarn, with a useful product at the end, especially for the cooler winter months ahead of us in the UK. I think this pattern would also be great for beginner-level knitters as well as those more experienced knitters, like myself, looking for some "down-time" knitting projects in between attempting more complex creations. Great project too for beginners wishing to "step up" to working with different yarn colours/stripes and a few very simple row increases.
