The Willem's Blanket pattern has 4 different motifs to choose from. This blanket is the Max pattern which is a repeating diamond shape. I purchased 12 balls, but only needed about 10 1/2 for the blanket and had enough to make a hat for the baby as well. The Sirdar yarn was nice to work with and has a nice soft feel. The one relatively minor downside to using this yarn is the yardage per ball. For the size I made, each ball gave me 32 rows. Total project was 320 rows, so lots of ends to weave in. Not a huge problem, just something to be aware of. I also had the misfortune to have one ball which had 2 joining knots (maybe more as I put that ball aside). Fortunately I had more than enough yarn to complete the project.
