I have been looking for a crochet Japanese Knot Bag Pattern and found a stunning example on Etsy The yarn was rather expensive, but I fell in love with the 'Half-Waffle' 'V' stitch pattern. I have included a close-up of it as my last photo, so decided to treat myself to the yarn. It certainly was a challenge, but well worth the effort. I think it really needed to be lined to give it some structure. My first attempt at that too. In the end I found the best way to get a good fit was to turn the bag inside-out and then fit the sewn lining 'pouch' onto the bag from the outside rather like putting a pillowslip on a pillow! It was then easy to just sew it to the bag around the top. I had almost a full ball of yarn left so added a flower and leaf trim to the shorter bag handle and made a matching coin purse using the 'Lemon Peel' stitch.
