My sister was 60 on the 18th April. I was caught out by the lockdown and hadn’t bought anything engraved or personalised as I had intended to. I couldn’t see anything online that I liked so I had the idea to knit an outfit for one of my teddies and personalise the jumper. I have followed a chart before, but hadn’t designed one of my. It was quite straight forward. I only put the date on the back and I realised when making it up that it was near the top of the jumper, leaving a lot of space underneath. I embroidered ‘lockdown’ in chain stitch there to remind her of the reason for her strange, very low key birthday. She was delighted with it and confessed she’d always wanted one of my bears after I had made the panda for her granddaughter and dog for her step-grandson. She says she will cuddle her bear while her grandchildren are out of her reach!
