He looked so cute in the bear onesie that I knitted last year, that I wanted to knit something for him that he could wear now he was toddling. I made the ears bigger, using the onesie pattern ears. Initially I made it exactly as the pattern said, but I thought it would be too short. When he tried it on it was. There was nothing 'cropped' about it. Just too short and toddler tummy on show! So I thought I'd undo the ribbing on the body, lengthen the body in stocking stitch and then redo the ribbing. Unfortunately the wool doesn't unravel easily, so in the end I just undid the cast-on, and added a couple of inches of ribbing. I also knitted in the round, so I could see the length. Then I thought I'd do an I-cord bind off around the hood, to make it look neater. I picked up stitches and then worked back doing the icord bind off. Hopefully this hoodie will last him all winter now!
