After a break from knitting for almost a year, I eventually began knitting this gnome which I was asked to do at the end of last year for this Christmas. Although I wasn't very enthusiastic, initially, I did eventually enjoy making this litlle chap. I used Pat's Gnorse and Gnilla pattern but after knitting other gnomes using different patterns, I changed things around a bit. I changed the hat and placed smaller eyes above the nose giving him a more cheeky, goofy kind of look. I really wanted to give him a much bigger nose but as it was an order so I had to reign myself in. I had seen Christine R's latest gnome and she had added a fringe and I really liked it so I added a fringe too - thank's Chirstine! I gave him stripey leggings and plain top and separated the two by knitting a couple of rows in black yarn. I then embroidered a buckle in silver yarn to make it look like a belt. I might even complete the rustic Santa I started and never finished last year.
