This year has been...something that’s for sure. There have been plenty of ups and downs (maybe more downs than ups), but one thing is certain, people have found solace and joy in crafting throughout.

To celebrate our love of crafting we dived into Instagram to explore the crafts and makes that people have gone wild for in 2020. We sifted through millions of posts to find the top craft projects you’ve been making, loving and sharing this year.  In a year when social media often became the epicenter of debate and a place that saw many people divided, it’s amazing to see so many of us come together thanks to our shared love of making.

We have also seen people all around the world enjoy making the patterns and kits available on our site, with crochet patterns proving more popular in the US, while Brits still favour knitting. To noone’s surprise, face mask patterns took the top spot in both countries, while a crochet rainbow, a symbol of support for the NHS and other frontline workers during the pandemic in Britain, came in at number three in the UK top ten.
